In the situation of Kovid-19, in the academic year 2020/21, direct educational work could not be started in the schools from June 2020. The study of students under 'Home Learning' was continued. As per the decision made by the Government, direct educational work has been started in schools from 11/01/2021 for Std-10 and 12 as well as for Std-9 and 11 from 01/02/2021.

Normally every year the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education prepares an educational activity calendar at the beginning of the academic year and sends it to the schools. In which the details of various examinations are shown. Due to the Covid-19 situation, the "Educational Activity Calendar" could not be prepared this year. As per the approval of the Government obtained on the single file here, in the academic year 2020/21, the first examination of Std. 9 to 12 as well as the annual examination of Std.Will have to do in detail.

First exam; Standard-9 to 12 : 19/03/2021 to 27/03/2021

Annual Examination: Std-9 and 11 : 07/06/2021 to 15/06/2021

In the situation of Kovid-19, for the academic year 2020-21, the question papers of Std-1 to Std-12 school examinations have to be prepared at the school level as per the format and merit declared by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. So that as per the plan shown in the table above, for the first examination of Std-9 to Std-12, as per the syllabus of the school, on the basis of the question paper format of the annual examination announced by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Accordingly, question papers will have to be prepared at the school level by determining the merit per chapter. For the annual examination of Std-1 and Std-11, 70% of the syllabus announced by the board as well as the question paper format of the annual examination and the details of merit per chapter will have to be prepared at the school level.

In the current situation of Covid-19, in the interest of the students, the state government has decided to reduce the standard 9 to 12 syllabus for the academic year 2020-21 in all the schools recognized by the Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education by 30%. Pursuant to which the details of the revised syllabus of Std. 9 to 12 for the academic year 2020-21 have been sent to you for information and implementation.

In order to reduce the stress of students for the academic year 2020-21 in the prevailing situation of Covid-19, a decision has been taken by the Government to change the examination system of Std. The details of which are as follows.

For the academic year 2020-21, in standard-9, 10, 11 (science stream / general stream), 12 (general stream) the proportion of objective questions in the examination question paper is 30% and the proportion of descriptive promos is 70%. Previously the proportion of objective questions was up to 20%. The standard of 50% objective questions (OMR method) and 50% descriptive promos will remain the same in Std-12 Science).
